According to the interwebs over the weekend, Microsoft is set to announce their own tablet later today. Interesting to see the tech giant finally take this big step. Many of us expected to see a Microsoft phone over the past 10 years as well, but the product never surfaced commercially. Many of us had also expected to see some sort of Audio/Video device, but that never arrived either. So why now, and why a tablet?

I’ll reserve most of my comments till after I see what they announce, assuming they do, later today. For the meantime, the tech-enthusiast in me is excited to see what they come up with. However, as a former OEM of Microsoft’s, I can only wait to see what fall out will come from this via their current OEM customer base. Either way, this is very interesting news if indeed it comes to fruition.
